Brian K. Johnson University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Brian K. Johnson, Professor, has taught multimedia and photojournalism at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for more than 20 years. He has won national awards for his multimedia and video projects and has been recognized for his teaching.

Before joining the faculty at Illinois, he worked for seven years as a staff photojournalist where he won national, regional and state awards for his work. He has a BS in journalism from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire and a MS in journalism from the University of Illinois. His scholarship areas include the convergence of media in journalism, especially video and multimedia.

Professor Johnson is the acting head of the department of journalism.
