Michelle Seelig University of Miami
Michelle Seelig is an Assistant Professor, in Visual Communication in the School of Communication, at the University of Miami. Seelig received her Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Florida State University, a Master of Arts in Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Art both from the University of Miami.
Seelig has taught at Florida State University and Temple University; and joined the University of Miami in 2001. Seelig teaches courses in photography, web design, advertising design, communication theory, and research methods.
Seelig's research interests include the convergence of new and traditional media in news organizations, the role of content producers in visual communication, as well as the impact of technology on pedagogy. She has written scholarly articles and has presented numerous papers at scholarly meetings in the areas of mass communication, visual communication, as well as communication and technology. Seelig also has professional experience in video production, photography, as well as desktop publishing, and web design.
Dr. Seelig's current research projects include a cross media analysis of web sites response to the Web as an outlet of information, as well as exploring the significant positive affect of still photos with sound.
