Jack Zibluk Arkansas State University
John B. (Jack) Zibluk is an associate professor of journalism at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, where he is the principal teacher in the photojournalism program. He teaches photography, photojournalism, design and numerous other courses.
He is also the Region 7 director for the National Press Photographers Association and is a frequent ethics columnist and writer for News Photographer magazine. He won the NPPA's Robin F. Garland educator award in 2005.
He also writes columns on political and educational issues for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette and the Chronicle of Higher Education. He is also head of the Small Programs Interest Group of the Association of Educators in Journalism and Mass Communications.
Zibluk was a newspaper writer, editor and photographer for several publications in his native Connecticut before returning to graduate school and earning a Ph.D. in mass communications from Bowling Green State University in Ohio in 1998. He worked as photojournalist for the Memphis Commercial Appeal in 2000 and continued to work as a part-time copy editor and designer for the newspaper through 2003. He was the National Geographic magazine faculty fellow in 2002.
His scholarly interests include media convergence, law, ethics, and press and society.
